For this project we asked students to think of interesting questions that they did not know the answer to. Then they had to research their question and present their findings to the class.

Question: Why do plants have flowers?
Answer: To survive, each plant must reproduce or create new plants. In their interior, many plants have flowers. This flowers are needed for the reproduction proccess.
Mariona:
Question: Who invented time?
Answer: Stanford Fleming invented time zones between 1879 and 1929. He was born in Scotland but moved to Canada when he was 18 years old.

Question: How many litres of water is there in the sea?
Answer: There is 1 sextillion, 370 quintillion litres of water in the sea. This number is so big it has 18 zeros at the end of it.

Question: Why are planets round?
Answer: Not all planets are round. The ones that are round are this shape because gravity creates a force that leaves them round.

Question What material is the shell of a turtle?
Answer: A turtle´s shell is made from bone that is joined together.

Question: What is the lowest temperature on Earth?
Answer: The lowest temperature ever directly recored at ground level on Earth is -89.2 C.

Question: How do you make glass?
Answer: Glass is made by melting several minerals at temperatures of 1700 degrees Celsius. Sand is the main mineral in glass.

Answer: There are 7 billion 442 million habitants in the world. Asia is the most populated country on Earth with over 4 billion habitants.

Question: What animal has killed the most humans in the world?
Answer: The animal that has killed the most humans in the world is the mosquito.
Vicky:
Question: Why are some people taller and some shorter?
Answer: Genetics is why some people are taller and some are shorter. For exemple, if my parents are tall then the probability of me being tall is high.

Question: Why do humans feel ticklish?
Answer: One theory is that being ticklish evolved as a defense mechanism to protect sensitive areas of the body. Another theory is that tickling encourages social bonding.

Question: Why do humans have eyebrows?
Answer: We have eyebrows to stop líquids, like rain or sweat, from falling into eyes. Eyebrows help the humans have a clear view and filter dust.
Anna:
Question: Why do some people have brown hair and other people have blond hair?
Answer: This has to do with genetics. If someone's parents has dark hair then they are likely to have dark hair too.
Albert:
Question: Why do we have to make the bed in the morning if later we return at night to make a mess of it again?
Answer: We make the bed at night for two reasons. First, for good hygiene to get ride of dust. Second, if a person comes to your home then they will see that your bedroom is clean.

Question:Why is snow white?
Answer: Snow is formed from frozen ice and water. Between these crystals, there is air. The air causes light to pass through the water crystals and they disperse which gives snow the white color.

Answer: Acne is characterized by small infections in the pores of the skin. Diet, hormonal changes, stress, lack of hygiene and bacteria are all causes of acne.

Answer: The smallest animal in the world is a frog found in Asia. It is 7.7 millimetres long.

Question: What makes eels electric?
Answer: The electric eel can emit electrical discharges from a group of specialized cells and electrical organs. These cells and organs have thousands of electrodes that are connected together.

Question Why is the color of the sea different from island to island?
Answer: Water absorbs part of the radiation from sunlight. Depeding on where the island is located, the radiation level of the sun is different.

Answer: The first known book printed in history was in China in the year 868.

Answer: A fly can fly up to 4 to 5 hours. They flap their wings 200 to 300 times per second.

Answer: The name Mona is given this name because it is named after a town that created this cake.
